A fire that began in a first-floor laundry room damaged a house at 27 Woodbury Road on Sunday. No injuries were reported and the house is still habitable.
The fire was reported at around 6:30 pm on Sunday. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke in the house and a fire in the first-floor laundry room. The fire was quickly extinguished and smoke was cleared from the house. The laundry room received fire, heat and smoke damage, the rest of the house received smoke damage.
The Southborough Fire Department requested an aerial ladder truck from Ashland since Southborough’s ladder truck is permanently out-of-commission.
The fire is under investigation by members of the Southborough Fire Department investigation unit. The cause has not yet been determined. Damage estimates are not yet available.
