I attended the 2nd & 3rd nights of this program in 2011, and it was truly phenomenal! It helped me to understand a lot more about the connections between hearing and reading (really, I had no idea), and how so many “non-reading” activities (like searching for hidden picture, playing “Simon Says” and many others) can help develop the skills for reading. Now that my son is in 2nd grade, I am beginning to use some of what I learned in part 3 to help him develop his comprehension skills (although I think part 3 is geared to 3rd-6th grade level overall). There were take home activities each night, and great materials to reference as well.
This was so exceptionally well done, and the presenters were fantastic too! It was well worth the time commitment!
