What to do with your leftover Halloween candy (besides eat it)

I made the mistake this year of buying Halloween candy I really like. That means I need to get the extra out of the house pronto. Luckily I know just how to get rid of it.

Neary School is collecting candy to include in care packages they’re sending to troops overseas. Principal Linda Murdock said they’d be happy to accept your candy donations. They would also love monetary donations, because mailing all the candy will not be cheap.

The boxes will be sent along with a copy of the Neary living flag photo taken earlier this fall. You can purchase a print of the photo, or get it as a magnet, for $5.00 a piece. Proceeds will help offset mailing costs.

Stop by Neary School (53 Parkerville Road) anytime during normal school hours to drop off your candy. Living flag prints and magnets are available for sale in the school office.

Love the Neary flag photo! Each of the schools should do that every year! Thanks for the idea about what to do with leftover candy…didn’t realize Neary still did that. I’m pretty sure that any candy is good with the exception of chocolate because it melts when shipped there.
