The Friends of the Southborough Library has stepped up its game this year with new leaders, a re-engergized membership, and a renewed focus on its mission to help provide valuable library services to the community. As part of their renewed effort, the Friends want to achieve 501(3)(c) non-profit status, and they’re looking for help.
The group is seeking a local attorney who would be willing to volunteer their time to help the Friends get non-profit status. Friends President Beth Melo said in an email to members that while a lawyer isn’t strickly necessary to apply for 501(3)(c) status, they believe professional guidance would ease the process.
If you’re interested in helping out, or if you know someone who might be, please contact Beth Melo at becmelo@yahoo.com.
The Friends next meet tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the library. The evening’s agenda includes planning for new programs and fundraising, which may include a local author series and a holiday sale. New members are invited to attend.
