The Southborough Police Department reports on its Facebook page that a water main on Turnpike Road (Route 9) has burst, making for a traffic headache tonight and possibly into the Monday morning commute.
Police report the break occurred on Route 9 eastbound just past the intersection with Oak Hill Road/Central Street in front of the Chinese Gospel Church. Traffic will be down to one lane of travel while crews work on repairing the damage. Repair work will continue throughout the evening and possibly into tomorrow morning.
Assuming repairs are still underway come morning, that could make for a challenging commute down Route 9. If I hear any updates, I’ll pass them along, but you might want to plan an alternate route if you’re headed east in the morning.
