Advisory Committee member disappointed in Town Meeting ‘foolishness’

Advisory Committee member John Boiardi had a letter to the editor published in the Metrowest Daily News on Sunday. In the letter he admonishes town meeting voters for approving a higher assessment for the Algonquin budget when town officials recommended against it.

It is a sad situation when a relative handful of Town Meeting members can reject the advice of the Board of Selectmen and the Advisory (Finance) Committee.

I have to admit the letter made me pretty cranky, but I’ll leave it up to you to form your own opinions. You can read the full letter here.

“Foolishness” is his writing a letter to the editor about this issue. Much discussion was had and the residents made their decision. That is what town meeting is all about. Is this the same guy that wants us to sell all our beautiful old town buildings?

Mimi22, pretty sure you’re referring to Al Hamilton. He used to be on Capital Budget Planning Committee, and I think he still is, but I could be wrong.

That’s right. Thank you for the clarification.
