The Southborough Recreation Department has shared its official schedule for Heritage Day.
Some old traditions are gone (like the Community House luncheon), but new events have popped up. So there’s plenty of entertainment for everyone.
Take a look at the timing of events below, and make your plans accordingly.
(If you have yet to sign your organization up for a booth or to march in the parade, you are running out of time. Please call the Rec Dept at 508-229-4452.)

The Southborough Gardeners would like you to know that this Heritage Day, October 14, 2013, the Southborough Gardeners will be hosting a “Pumpkin Patch” booth to raise money for and public awareness of the Southborough Gardeners’ contributions to the community of Southborough. We will be selling homemade whoopie pies, in both pumpkin and chocolate flavors, as well as gourds and small pumpkins to decorate your home and holiday table. Proceeds from sales will go toward town beautification. In addition, we will be eager to talk to residents of Southborough about our organization; membership, past projects, current projects, town beautification and scholarship opportunities. Members will also be on hand to answer questions about gardening and decorating for the holidays. Please stop by to say hello and help us to continue to serve the Town of Southborough.
The Gardeners are only one of the great community organizations that plan to do fundraising or outreach at Heritage Day. Next week, I’ll be posting a story highlighting the way organizations like these are making the most of this day.
If your organization hasn’t already shared its information with me, please email mysouthborough@gmail.com by Monday. (And if you haven’t reserved your booth yet – Get on it!!)
