Hey, have you heard? Adam Sandler will be filming a movie in Southborough later this month.
The selectmen made it official last night by signing the contract and approving the road closure permit. The film crew will start setting up next Monday. The portion of St. Mark’s Street next to Pilgrim Church will be closed through Memorial Day. Shooting happens the week of May 18.
Selectman Bill Boland said the movie would be “an upbeat thing for the town,” but there are some drawbacks, he said, notably the traffic revisions.
Boland said feedback from residents (including the comments on this blog!) were positive, with most people saying the movie would bring a little happiness to town.
We’ll all find out next Monday when the fun begins.
