You live in Massachusetts. You have to expect some winter storms. My kids have been looking forward to the first real snowfall of the season.
So, with the major impact forecasted for Sunday (where school and work isn’t impacted for most), I say “Let it snow”.
Stock up on hot cocoa. If you have a working fireplace, bring in some logs. Prepare to enjoy the day.
(If my husband is reading this, he’s sure to be thinking, “Are you planning on clearing the driveway?” Of course not, that’s why I don’t mind it!)
The forecast from National Weather Service today doesn’t seem too dire for this storm:
The seasons first widespread plow-able snowfall will occur late Saturday into Sunday morning. Still some uncertainty on exact snowfall totals as sleet and freezing rain will likely mix in toward the end of the event. Nonetheless expect difficult travel conditions from late Saturday into Sunday morning.
Of course, you never know what may develop.

National Weather Service:
Snow will become steadier and somewhat heavier between 5 pm and 8 pm from west to east. Thus all travel should be completed by then. The heaviest snow occurs between 1 am and 7 am Sunday. Most locations will see a changeover early Sunday morning
St. Mark’s Church has only its 10:45 service this morning!
Now that the storm is behind us, what are the best hills for sledding in southborough?
Some families love the hill in St. Mark’s golf course on Latisquama. It’s a fairly long steep one. But, WARNING, I’ve seen kids end up in the middle of the road near top of MacNeil Drive.
My brother used to build up a little snow bank at road side to keep that from happening to his kids.
I’ve also seen little kids sledding at small slope on St. Mark’s field across from the Library.
In Marlborough, near the Southborough line, is the former ski area at Jericho Hill. That is probably best for older kids.
