The New England Author series heats up at the Southborough Library next month. In tribute to Valentine’s Day, the February event features a panel of romance writers.
Authors will discuss their process and views on the changing publishing industry. (Apparently, self publishing has exploded this genre. Authors aching with the need to release their pent up fantasy writing now enjoy handling their own business.)
The panel will be held on Wedenesday, February 12, at 7:00 pm.
The writers’ works cover genres of young adult historical fantasy, contemporary romantic fantasy, erotica and contemporary romance:
Our panelists include Franklin resident and mother of three Laura Spinella whose first novel, “Beautiful Disasters” is a story set in the Deep South about two former lovers reconnected. It was nominated in the “Best First Book” category at the 2012 RITA Awards, which recognize the top authors and novels in the popular romance genre. Her most recent book is “Perfect Timing” and a third novel is on the way.
Erotica writer Dalton Diaz’s favorite hobby is reading, and she is a complete romance snob. To quote: “If a story doesn’t have romance, it isn’t worth it. If there’s hot sex, all the better.” Her book “By Mutual Desire”* won Book of the Year for 2012 @ BDSM Book Reviews.
Marissa Doyle is a Massachusetts native who graduated from Bryn Mawr College and went on to graduate school intending to be an archaeologist, but somehow got distracted. Eventually she figured out what it was she was really supposed to be doing and started writing. She’s channeled her inner history geekiness into a successful young adult historical fantasy series, and is now also happily writing contemporary romantic fantasy. Her published books include “Bewitching Season”, “Betraying Season” and “Courtship and Courses”.
The event is free and open to the public.
