Monday, February 24, 2014:

  • Birthday Luncheon (12:00 – 1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Social Luncheon. Free if your birthday is this month. Otherwise, suggested donation of $5. (Registration was required by prior Friday. If you missed that deadline, you can still sign up for the March 31st and April 28th luncheons. Call the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.)

Tuesday, February 25, 2014:

  • Fitness Class (3:15 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: This semi-weekly class is led by Sharon McDevitt. Suggested donation is $3 per class, but seniors are also encouraged to drop in for a free class to see what it’s all about.

Wednesday, February 26, 2014:

  • Technology Days (2:15 – 3:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Algonquin students will answer all of senior’s questions about cellphones, iPads, laptops, e-readers and more. Please write your questions down ahead of time so that everything can be answered.
  • Rotary Club Community Meeting (7:00 pm) @ Fay School’s Primary Building: The Southborough Rotary Club is inviting the community to come find out who they are and what they do. For more information, email Carl.Guyer@gmail.com or call 508-481-3770.

Thursday, February 27, 2014:

  • Fitness Class (3:15 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: This semi-weekly class is led by Sharon McDevitt. Suggested donation is $3 per class, but seniors are also encouraged to drop in for a free class to see what it’s all about.

Friday, February 28, 2014:

  • The Butler (12:00 – 2:10 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Free monthly matinee. Forrest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey star in the story of a White House butler who served eight American presidents over three decades. (Running time 2 hrs. 6 min.) Room will be open at 11:30 for anyone who wants to bring their lunch
  • SEF Spelling Bee (6:00/7:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School: Annual family friendly fundraiser by the Southborough Education Foundation. Teams from the community participate.The moderator gives the word and each community team works as a group to decide their spelling of it. The audience is encouraged to to test themselves by silently spelling along in their booklets. Attendees are also encouraged to participate in a raffle and silent auction. Doors open at 6:00 pm for the raffle and silent auction. The actual bee begins at 7:00 pm with the end time depending on how long the spellers last. (Expect around 2 hrs with intermission.) Attendance is $5 per person or $10 per family.

Saturday, March 01, 2014:

  • 20140224_mr_magic (180x138)Mr. Magic’s Magic Show (10:00 am – 11:00 am) @ Fay’s Primary School, 25 Middle Road: Mr. Magic has been amazing the young and old for 35 years with his dynamic repertoire. Kids can participate throughout the performance and will get to meet Mr. Magic’s animal assistants. Event is free, but space is limited. Register by clicking here.   • Southborough Democrat caucus (1:00 pm) @ Trottier Middle School cafeteria at 49 Parkerville Road: Caucus to elect Southborough delegates and alternates to the 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Convention in June. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. All town residents registered as Democrats by January 31 can vote or run. Ballots will be secret. Those not elected may apply to be add-on delegates in the following categories: youth, minority and disabled. For more information, contact Susan Ruane at 508-460-0830.

  • The 45th Annual Troop 1 Pancake Breakfast (8:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Neary School cafeteria: The annual fundraiser is used to support troop activities, including community service projects. Don’t worry if you missed the scout at your door. You can buy tickets when you get there. $6/adult, $3/senior, $3/child 6-12, free for 5 and under. Click on flyer for details.
