These events weren’t listed in the government meetings for the week – because they aren’t town open government meetings. But they don’t quite fit in with legos and sing-a-longs either!
Residents will try to drum up support for two Warrant Articles sponsored by citizen petitions. And reps from the federal government are coming in to answer questions.
Wednesday, April 09, 2014:
- Main Street project – citizen’s petition panel (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: A panel discussion with Q&A related to the Warrant Article for the Annual Town Meeting, based on a citizen’s petition to form and fund a committee to re-examine the Main Street reconstruction project.
Thursday, April 10, 2014:
- FEMA Informational Session (5:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives will be available to answer questions from residents about how changes to the new flood maps effect them. (A Warrant Article at Town Meeting seeks to update the Town Code to reflect changes related to the National Flood Insurance Program.) This is a “drop in” format, for individual discussions, not a presentation. (Click here to see the maps and related information.)
- Split Tax-Rate presentation (7:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: The upcoming Town Meeting includes a Warrant Article (by citizen petition) on a non-binding measure to recommend a split tax rate. Resident Carl Guyer will walk through his presentation in support of the measure.
