MLB Pitch, Hit & Run for 7-12 year olds – Saturday

This Saturday, kids in town can compete for the Major Leagues thanks to the Little League.  Winners of the Pitch, Hit, & Run competition may advance to Fenway for the state competition, or even to Nationals in July.

The town event is open to all resident 7-12 year olds. But while it takes place this Saturday, May 3rd, the age is based on “as of July 17, 2014”.

If your kids love baseball and fit in that range (or just want to cheer on the players) then show up at Mooney Field (Finn School) at 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday.

New this year, SLL will also be hosting the sectional PHR competition on May 17th where winners from the local competitions will gather to compete for the opportunity to advance to the State Finals at Fenway Park in June and then to the National Finals during the MLB all-star week at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN in July.

The Major League Baseball PHR competition is a FREE, exciting, skills event for boys and girls ages 7 – 12 where participants compete in four levels of competition including Team Championship events at all 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game.

Divisions are based on the participant’s age on July 17, 2014.
Competitors compete in 3 age groups per gender: 7/8 YO, 9/10 YO, 11/12 YO.

There is no pre-registration for this event (just show up) but please note that you will be required to complete a registration form for your child the date of the event. This is a requirement of Major League Baseball and is mandatory for participation in the competition.
