Two annual celebrations for Southborough seniors are taking place this summer.
The Southborough Senior Center will hold its Summer BBQ next week. It’s the center’s annual celebration for staff, volunteers, and resident seniors.
This year it will take place on Wednesday, July 9th at 1:00 pm. The cookout requires advance registration and fills up quickly. So sign up soon.
DJ Scott Smith will entertain with music for the 5th year running.
Food will be catered by TJ’s in Ashland. The BBQ menu includes hotdots, hamburgers, chicken, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, fruit salad and drinks.
Dessert will be from the ice cream truck and sponsored by Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. (When’s the last time someone bought you a treat from the ice cream truck?)
If you weren’t quick enough to make the list – or aren’t around that day, there’s another celebration around the corner.
On Wednesday, August 20th, State Representative Carolyn Dykema will hold her annual picnic for seniors in her district. It will take place from noon to 2:00 at Hopkinton Laborers Training Center.
To register for either event, call the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
