A juvenile was arrested for speeding without a license in an uninspected vehicle.
Police also responded to reported sound of possible gun shots (with no findings) and possible road rage between a driver and bicyclist.
Read about those incidents and more in the latest logs from the Southborough Police Department.
But first, Southborough Police answered a reader’s question.
In the logs, police frequently investigate a burglar alarm. A reader asked me if any of these failed robbery attempts. Officer Ryan Newell explained that if they were, they would let residents know.
The number of false alarms are for a variety of reasons:
Sometimes the alarm system is malfunctioning; sometimes the system is old and needs to be replaced; sometimes the contact strips (which trigger the alarms) do not line up anymore; sometimes the weather causes the alarmed doors and/or windows to rattle; sometimes it is a pet that sets them off; and sometimes its as simple as a spider building a web in front of an alarm sensor (which, because of its proximity to the sensor, will set it off).
