Rita Ann (Noberini) Mattioli, 91 of Southborough died on Friday, November 14, 2014 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Richard Mattioli , who passed away in 1996.
Born in Southborough she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mena (Trioli) Noberini. Rita was a 1941 graduate of the former Peter’s High School in Southborough and then graduated from beauty school.
During WWII she would travel to Fort Devens where she would cut and style hair for the military men and women. Rita opened her own shop, Rita’s Beauty Salon in Framingham and later moved it to Southborough. She retired in 2001. She was a former member of St Anne Church in Southborough. Rita’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Mattioli and his wife Sandy of Worcester; Ronald Mattioli and his wife Martha Ann of Southborough; Robert Mattioli and his wife Patricia of Marlvborough; 7 grandchildren, Christine and Leah Mattioli; Daniel, Bryan and Shawn Mattioli and his wife Katie; Jesse Preston and Joe Pineau; 3 sister-in-laws, Janet Mattioli of Southborough; Ann Mattioli of Cape Cod; and Vicky Noborini.
Visiting hours [were] held on Sunday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 3 PM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 AM at St Matthew Church, 26 Highland St., Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.
