The Metrowest Daily News recently reported that donations at area food pantries are down. But Southborough Food Pantry organizer Barbara Jandrue tells me donations there have been holding steady. “We have been very fortunate,” she said.
Jandrue said they also haven’t seen the increase in demand that other towns have. She encourages anyone who needs assistance to contact the Food Pantry at 508-485-4847. The pantry is located at Pilgrim Church. Hours are Tuesdays 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Fridays 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The schools do a lot of donation drives for the Food Pantry, which means supplies can be lighter during the summer. If you want to make a donation, Jandrue says the pantry is in need of canned peas, ketchup, mustard, relish, paper towels, Parmalat 1% Milk, Kleenex, and Windex. You can drop off donations during pantry hours, or leave them inside the side door any time Pilgrim is open.
