The Southborough Police Department is holding it’s popular Junior Police Academy this summer. Registration is now open.
The drill camp is for 12-15 year olds. Last year, spots were filled before I even got a chance to share the opportunity with readers. So I encourage anyone interested to act quickly.
This year’s camp will be held from Monday, July 27th to Friday, July 31st. Applications are only available by picking them up at the station.
The academy is run for the 17th summer by Southborough police officers who volunteer their time and expertise. (Other costs are borne by the Southborough Police Association.)
Looking for some more information on what the camp is about? Check out Southborough Access Media’s video above. I also recommend a great 2012 story Susan wrote for the blog interviewing officers behind the effort.
