A reader informed me that her home and neighbors lost water in the wee hours of Thursday morning. She wondered if it was due to the Route 9 construction, and shouldn’t the Department of Public Works have notified residents to be prepared.
It turns out that while it may have been related to the project to replace the oft-breaking water main along Route 9 – it wasn’t a planned shut-off.
The Town Website posted yesterday:
Water break on Route 9 this morning at 2am. Isolated service returned to all neighborhoods. You may have air in your house pipes, but open faucets and water should come.
