It’s time for the annual Scouting for Food drive.
The event unites Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts across town in support of the Southborough Food Pantry.
This Halloween weekend, you’ll be seeing scouts around town, posting flyers.
The following Saturday, November 7th, they’ll be back in your neighborhood hoping to gather a bounty for the pantry.
Here are more details:
Scouting for Food is next week!
On Saturday, October 31, look out for the flyers that scouts will be hanging on your mailboxes asking for donations for the Southborough Food Pantry. Scouting for Food is the biggest donation event for the Southborough Food Pantry every year.*
On the morning of November 7th, the food pantry shelves will be virtually bare. By the end of the day we hope to have them overflowing.
[Note: Organizers shared some photos to demonstrate the power of the drive. Check out the difference between the pantry shelves before and after!]
Please consider a generous donation this year.
The flyers will list much needed items, so please read them over and consider donating any non-perishable items from food to cleaning and hygiene supplies. And remember to check the expiration dates! Food items within 3 months of expiration cannot be shelved at the pantry.
Thank you for your help this year. Let’s make this a great year for the this event and show the Food Pantry and its patrons how much Southborough cares!
*According to organizers, the school collections and other contributions throughout the year help – BUT – the pantry relies on this annual drive to keep the pantry sufficiently supplied!
