Southborough Boy Scout Troop 1 named its 55th Eagle Scout recently, with the honor going to Southborough resident Matthew McHugh. The Community Advocate reports:
A major step in the Eagle process is planning and completing a service project. With assistance from the troop, McHugh’s project entailed clearing and inspecting all fire hydrants in the town of Southborough. Once the inspections were completed, he then created a database that indicated if additional maintenance such as painting or placing a snow flag was necessary.
Earlier this year, Southborough resident Philip B. Kachajian became an Eagle Scout. And a Hopkinton Eagle Scout recently built a memorial garden at St. Matthew Parish.
