Greater Worcester Community Foundation Now Accepting Applications for Early Childhood Grants
The Greater Worcester Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications for its early childhood program. According to research, a child’s first eight years are the most critical for human development, and GWCF believes that building a solid foundation during these years is the most effective way to assure a healthy and productive life. The Foundation has made early childhood education a priority in its funding initiatives.
The grants will support early childhood programs that:
- Increase the quality and quantity of formal early education for low-income children;
- support parents and families in their roles as teachers, caregivers, and supporters of their children’s development;
- help eliminate summer learning loss among low-income children in greater Worcester.
The Foundation awards community grants to support nonprofit organizations that build healthy and vibrant communities in Central Massachusetts. The typical grant range is $5,000 to $25,000. Applications must be received by March 18, 2016. For more information, contact Chris O’Keeffe, cokeeffe@greaterworcester.org or 508-755-0980.
