The Heritage Chorale is holding a special concert at St. Mark’s School this month. Once again, they are offering 100 free tickets to resident seniors and children. They are also selling tickets to the general public.
It’s promoted as a great way to introduce youth to the bard and to choral singing. The approx 100 member Chorale will be joined by the 70+ voices of the Young Women’s Chorus of Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society.
The event is the last of the 2015-2016 Family Series with free tickets sponsored by the Southborough Community Fund. Tickets are limited to the first 50 seniors and first 50 7-18 year olds (under 16 must be accompanied by paying adult).
For more details on the event, see the flyer below.
For information on the free tickets, see the press release below:
The Heritage Chorale, John Finney – Director, has received a $2000 grant from The Southborough Community Fund (SCF), a fund of The Foundation for Metrowest. This grant is in support of the Chorale’s third and last concert of its “2015-2016 Family Series”, which began in November with a joint performance in Southborough by Heritage Chorale and the children’s chorus Voices Boston, followed by a February Pops Concert in Framingham.
The final concert of the season will be on May 14th at 7:30pm at St. Mark’s School Performing Arts Center, 25 Marlboro Road in Southborough. Joining the Chorale will be a high school aged honors choir, the Young Women’s Chorus of Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society, under the direction of Alyson Greer.
“Shakespeare & Friends,” will bring songs and dramatic readings of the Bard’s writings, in styles from madrigals to jazz, to three generations of residents in Southborough and the surrounding area. An excellent introduction to Shakespeare and to choral singing for students over age 7 who sing in school choruses or church choirs, this is a great event for families to enjoy together.
The SCF grant provides fifty free senior tickets and fifty free tickets for youths aged seven through high school, on a first-come, first-served basis. To inquire about free tickets, email info@heritagechorale.org or call 508-270-3999. Free tickets for children aged 7 through 16 will require purchase of an adult chaperone ticket. Visit heritagechorale.org for more information about the concert.

Updated (5/5/16 6:07 pm): Updated age range based on comment posted by Heritage Chorale, which also included info on parking:
the free tickets extend to all high school students. Those over 16 don’t require purchase of an adult ticket, as they can drive themselves. The Handel + Haydn Chorus singers are high-school aged, and we’d love for young people from Southborough and the surrounding towns to come hear them.
We’re providing a shuttle bus from Woodward Elementary School from 6pm to 8 and again after the concert. We ask that all able-bodied people ride the shuttle and leave St. Mark’s parking for seniors and those with disabilities. Thanks!
