The Southborough Fire Department, with assistance from Northborough, is working to put out a brush fire this afternoon.
This morning, a National Weather Service advisory shared that there was a high fire risk for the state:
Though light winds are forecast today…Massachusetts state fire weather officials have advised of a heightened fire danger given warm temperatures…low humidity values…and lack of rainfall.
So, a brush fire isn’t shocking. But the location is a challenge for firefighters. According to the SFD’s Facebook post, the only access to the area is via the reservoir.
The below Facebook post went up about an hour ago. Over a recent call, office staff couldn’t provide an updated status, but confirmed that crews and the Fire Chief weren’t back yet.
