Obituary: Dr. Richard Allyn “Doc” Hallisey, 84

Dr. Richard Allyn “Doc” Hallisey, 84, of Southborough died peacefully at home on Monday November 13, 2017.

Dentistry was Doc’s lifelong passion. After graduating from Tufts University and the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, he joined the Marines and served at Camp Lejeune Naval Base in Jacksonville, NC, as a dental officer. Doc opened his private practice in Southborough in 1963, where he cared for his patients for more than 40 years.

He found time to travel, cook, play golf, work in his woodshop, build stone walls and weave Nantucket baskets. Doc was an active member of the Southborough community, a loyal friend, a lively raconteur, and was very devoted to his family.

He leaves his beloved wife of 31 years, Lynda “Junie” (Ricciuti) Hallisey; his children, Lisbeth Randall and her husband Jeff; Allyn Hallisey and his wife Minty; a son-in-law, Kevin Krivanec; the mother of his children, Louise Hallisey; his stepchildren Meg Campbell and her husband Antonio Barajas; Bill Campbell and his wife Alison; Marcy Paterson; Jeff Campbell and his wife Elaine; Kerry Morrison and her husband Doug; 15 grandchildren: Grayson, Paige, Colin, Mackenzie, Miguel, Meredith, Diego, John, Seth, Abigail, Jane, Louis, Kylie, Henry and Campbell; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Doc is predeceased by his daughter, Susan Krivanec, a son-in-law, Douglas Paterson, and his brothers Michael, Robert and Edward.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday morning, November 18, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.

A funeral Mass will follow at 1 PM at St Anne Catholic Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough.

Burial will be private in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be sent in Doc’s memory to Natick Visiting Nurse Association and Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Care, 199 Rosewood Drive Suite 180, Danvers, MA 01923. vnacarenetwork.org.
