Given the situation with trees and powerlines that are still down around town, the district has canceled school in Southborough and Northborough for tomorrow.
That means the last day of school moves to Friday, June 22nd.
Update (3/9/18 9:02 am): For those of you who still don’t have power in town:
It’s not posted as an official warming station today, but the Southborough Senior Center is open until 3pm. (So at least seniors can head over, hang out and warm up.)
For everyone else, the Library Will be open 10 AM – 5pm!
Note: I was feeling a little drunk with power after the lights and heat kicked back on this morning. The universe decided to take me down a notch by sending me computer problems. So, I’m still blogging from my phone!
Hopefully, I’ll resolve issues soon and be able to return to my regular blogging.
Update (3/9/18 11:14 am): National Grid is still listing about 50% of Southborough as not having power yet. That’s frustrating for those of you still waiting for electricity. But, at least it’s an improvement from yesterday, when at one point over 85% were powerless.
To put it in context, a reader shared that the storm’s impact on our town made the national news (prompting calls from worried relatives)
Update (3/9/18 1:45 pm): The Library tweeted that they have additional power strips set up in the “Technology Commons” that are adjacent to the public computers:
These are makeshift charging stations for residents who would like to power devices. Please check in with library staff – we will show you where these areas are.
