For the second time this week, residents on the south side of town woke up to no electricity. National Grid reports 71 customers lost power at around 7:45 am today. The Regional School Committee met last night to review preliminary budget numbers for Algonquin. Superintendent Charles Gobron told the committee that due to a loss of one-time federal funds and increasing operational costs, the school budget is projected to increase by nearly 6% next year.
