NSPAC offers presentation on recognizing and treating concussions in adolescents

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as many as 3.8 million concussions occur each year during sports and recreation activities. Athletes who have had a concussion are at increased risk for another. Through an upcoming presentation, the Northborough/Southborough Special Education Parents Advisory Council (NSPAC) wants to help parents learn the warning signs of concussions and what to do about it. Report says cancer rates in Southborough higher than in most Mass towns

According to a report released earlier this year by the Massachusetts Office of Health and Human Services, 141 men in Southborough and 117 women were diagnosed with cancer from 2003 to 2007. It’s a statistic that earns Southborough the dubious honor of being one of the towns in Massachusetts with the highest rates of cancer.
