Voluntary odd/even water ban now in effect

The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously last night to impose a voluntary odd/even water restriction starting immediately and running through September 22. Under the ban, outside water use is restricted based on your house number, so odd-numbered houses use water on odd-numbered days, and even-numbered houses use water on even-numbered days. McAuliffe steps aside, selectmen appoint Eagle to zoning board

In a surprise move at last night’s Board of Selectmen meeting, Zoning Board of Appeals member Regina McAuliffe withdrew her application for reappointment to the board. Her withdrawal paved the way for selectmen to appoint Southborough businessman David Eagle as a new permanent member of the ZBA. Superintendent to form committee to evaluate school building needs

The question of whether Southborough needs fours schools or whether it could get away with three has been an ongoing debate for several years now. The School Committee has looked into the issue in the past, but Superintendent Charles Gobron said at a meeting earlier this month he plans to form a new committee dedicated to evaluating Southborough’s school housing needs. MWDN: Southborough’s Trottier School band pays tribute to Eric Green

Admittedly, I’m a bit delayed in sharing this story. But for anyone lucky enough to hear the Trottier Middle School Big Band play with jazz great Walter Beasley earlier this month (I was), no doubt the music is still reverberating in your head. It was a truly wonderful concert, and not just for the amazing music, but also for the touching tribute to Trottier seventh-grader Eric Green.
