In past years young readers participating in the Southborough Library’s summer reading program have plowed through more than 4,000 books in one summer. This is short notice, but earlier today I learned the Gold Star Memorial train will make a stop in Southborough this evening. The special passenger coach which bears the name of every soldier, marine, sailor and airman who lost their life while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, was scheduled to pass through town last week as it traveled the Boston-Worcester line, but the run had to be scrapped at the last moment due to mechanical problems.
