Yesterday was such a beautiful day, what with the white snow and blue sky. I packed the toddler in the car and cruised around town taking pictures. You can see some of the shots below, but for more, visit the My Southborough flickr photostream. I’m not sure if this structure — a dam? — in Read the full article → from Southborough in snow

Starting to thaw
The temperature is warming up (37 degrees at last check), and ice is starting to melt off the trees. I haven’t ventured out to survey the town, but there are branches down in my neighborhood. We’re estimated to have received several inches of rainfall which, judging by the state of my basement, sounds about right. Read the full article → from Starting to thaw
Further afield: Tower Hill Botanic Gardens
The family and I spent some time at Tower Hill Botanic Gardens in Boylston last weekend. We walked trails that wound through the woods with statues peeking out from between the trees. The dusting of snow on Sunday made it hushed and lovely. Inside the Visitor’s Center, themed Christmas trees sparkled. If you don’t have Read the full article → from Further afield: Tower Hill Botanic Gardens

In case you need a reminder, here are some brilliant shots taken the other week by a My Southborough reader. (Thanks, Dick!) The aerial photo isn’t Southborough, Read the full article → from In need of some color?

Heritage Day pumpkin lighting
Pumpkins lined the stone wall along Common St. last night during the annual pumpkin lighting, one of my favorite Heritage Day activities. My own young pumpkin has an early bedtime, so we didn’t get to see things all aglow, but we swung by during daylight hours to get some photos.
