Southborough K-8 School Committee approves $17 million schools budget

Back in January Superintendent Charles Gobron told the K-8 School Committee the district may have to eliminate up to four full-time positions to make the budget numbers work. MWDN: Superintendent recommends five new teachers at Algonquin

Superintendent Charles Gobron presented a preliminary budget for Algonquin at the Regional School Committee meeting last night. The $19.4M budget, which is $893K above the current year’s budget, includes a request for five new teachers and an additional assistant principal. Snow day in Southborough, 4-6 inches forecast

Snow is falling in Southborough this morning, and forecasters say we’re in for 4 to 6 inches before the storm is through later today. Superintendent Charles Gobron made the call shortly before 6:00 am today to cancel school in Southborough and Northborough due to the snow and dangerous road conditions.
