In late June, I promised to follow up on the School Start Time change adopted by the school committees for fall 2021. The decision hinged on a big change for bus transportation. Petition to change Algonquin’s name & get rid of Tomahawks “mascot”

This month, over 2,000 petitioners have asked Algonquin Regional High School to get rid of the first word in its name and to drop its mascot. An alumnus with Algonquin roots publicly objected to “erasure” and conflating the school name with other issues around the mascot and racist behavior. Combined school committees support start time changes for 2021-22

Last night, the school committees for Northborough-Southborough Public Schools supported a modified plan to change school bus tiers and start times for the school year after next. If implemented, the changes would mean Algonquin Regional students will Start School Later in August/September of 2021.
