On Monday night’s Town Meeting Warrant, Article 18 will ask voters to “require” the Select Board on steps to take for passing a new law. The Southborough Cultural Arts Council is encouraging individuals and groups to apply for grants to support artistic projects and activities to benefit the community.

According to Police Chief Ryan Newell, the Southborough Police Department has a staffing crisis. The SPD has lost eight officers in the last 21 months. And his second in command has an “overwhelming” workload.

Last year, Town Meeting voters approved borrowing and spending $2.2M to cleanup an old farm dump on Breakneck Hill Conservation Land. On Monday, voters will be asked to add on another over $2.13M for a cleanup project that is turning out to cost about double what had been estimated.
