Bob Melican dedicated his career to the Northborough-Southborough school district, so it seems only fitting that a scholarship was set up in his memory. The criteria hasn’t been finalized yet, but the Robert E. Melican Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Algonquin senior. The Algonquin boys soccer team lost to Ludlow in the state semifinal match yesterday by a score of 2-1. After capturing the division title on Monday, they finish the season with a record of 18-2-2.
