Planning agrees to support temporary Occupancy permit for History & Arts Center (Updated)

The Southborough Historical Society’s President and the Planning Board had been in a contentious stand-off over SHS’ non-compliance with site plan conditions. That included his claims that the board’s decisions were illegal and overreaching, accusations of vindictive behavior, purported lawsuit threats, and filing of Open Meeting Law Complaints.
Not everything was smoothed over in Monday night’s meeting. But with help from another SHS board member, an agreement was reached on a path to opening the building in time for publicized programs to potentially take place this weekend. Southborough History & Art Museum promotes Opening & Art reception — Jan 17
SHS plans to celebrate a "permanent" Grand Opening with a talk by the four Southborough artists whose work is on exhibit. That will be followed by the launch of classes, lectures and workshops.

The Southborough Historical Society is using a “Classical Christmas Concert to raise funds for the History and Arts Center they are seeking to open in Fayville Village Hall.

A Planning Board hearing for Major Site Plan approval of SHS' new museum at 40-42 Central St is scheduled for April 24th.
