Annual Town Meeting recap

Investments in Emergency Communications, a potential Library expansion, the golf course, accessible trails, and more.

Yesterday, a small percentage of Southborough voters agreed to fund improving public safety, pursuing a Library expansion project, investing in Town recreational assets, stabilizing special education budget impacts, preserving the Town’s history and seed money for Tricentennial celebrations. They also enabled pursuit of a solar project at Trottier and agreed to clean up zoning language.

Library Building Project request headed to Annual Town Meeting

Library seeks to answer questions about an ATM Article asking voters to support a potential project to expand the library (or build a new one)

At Town Meeting on March 23rd, Article 12 will ask voters to agree to commit up to $150K for planning and design work for a project for a new or renovated/expanded library building.*

Community Center committee recommends using Finn School (if available)

The group representing a variety of interest groups agreed on the best path for future town facilities, with a big caveat.

Library is seeking public input on its building

Before Trustees further pursue state assistance with a potential building project, they need community feedback on the current structure and services and what changes the public would support.

Community Center Exploration Committee is asking for your attention

The committee is asking for the public to watch their meetings and provide feedback on community facility needs and ideas for solutions.

A committee looking at possibilities for meeting the Town’s long term facility needs (including for offices and recreational programming) is asking the public to make sure they aren’t missing any considerations. Seeking members for Community Exploratory Committee (and other committees)

The Town is creating a committee to research a Community Center at Woodward or elsewhere. Over 15 other committees also have vacancies.

Town’s consultants recommend use of Woodward as municipal building/community center and Town House as Library annex
