Selectmen to hold “unprecedented” hearing on removing Bartolini from ZBA

Last week, the Board of Selectmen allowed petitioners to make their case against Zoning Board of Appeals’ Leo Bartolini. Residents accused the former Chair of disrespectful behavior that has eroded public confidence in the ZBA.

Their arguments held enough weight with selectmen that they agreed to pursue to the next stage in the legal process. Selectmen agreed to submit written charges to Bartolini and schedule a public hearing to decide whether or not to remove him “for cause” from his post. ZBA still considering Park Central appeals; continued to 11/3

The Zoning Board of Appeals opened appeal hearings on the Building Inspector’s ruling on Park Central Use Variance. A continued hearing will be held on November 3rd. Voters turnout to approve Main St, reject Use Variance, and gate Flagg Rd; Controversy over Moderator’s calls

Last night, Southborough held the Special Town Meeting I’ve been warning you about forever. Judging by the tone and actions of voters, the main attraction was the Use Variance bylaw.

Close to 10% of Southborough’s registered voters turned up at Trottier Middle School to make their voices heard. But there is controversy over whether that happened or some voices were unfairly muted. Planning Board rejects Park Central Site Plan after developer refuses extension

Expect to see Park Central back in front of the Zoning Board of Appeals sometime soon. Developer Bill Depietri made it clear that he will appeal a site plan rejection by the Planning Board.

Selectmen: No Park Central access to Flagg Road unless developer/state come up with a plan to solve access/egress issues

The Board of Selectmen voted 3-1 to force the developer and MassDOT to figure out a solution to Park Central egress/access. If they don’t, the board plans to prohibit the development’s access to Flagg Road.
