Public Safety Building: project bids due before Town Meeting; RFP being issued for solar canopies (Updated)
RFPs will be issued this week for Southborough Public Safet Building project. In hopes of cutting over $300K from the Public Safety Building project, the Town will also soon issue an RFP for solar canopy carports. Selectmen approved pursuing the option after last week’s update from the PSB Committee. Golf Course: Discord over control of Conservation Restriction; pursuing a potential name change
According to Southborough Wicked Local, Town Counsel will pursue a Conservation Restriction for the St. Mark’s Golf Course co-held between a Town committee and outside non-profit. The decision was over objections of some concerned residents and the ad-hoc committee appointed to work on the CR.

Officials debate whether Golf Course clubhouse costs can/should be covered by Public Safety Building budget
This week, the Public Safety Building Committee presented updated project costs to the Board of Selectmen. The Chair made clear that while there are cost overages “on paper” members are still striving to stay within their original budget presented to voters. He clarified that figure is $2 million below the “contingency” they included in the voter approved budget allowance.
During the discussion that followed, it became clear that some members disagreed with a decision not to include costs for a related project in their budget. At issue is relocation of the clubhouse for the adjacent St. Mark’s Golf Course.
