Bus Update: Transportation nightmares, a school apology, and next steps
This morning, was a rocky start to the school year for many students waiting endlessly for a bus. This afternoon was apparently even worse. Some students were shifted to other buses. With buses somehow over capacity, kids were sitting on buses that couldn’t leave the school. Parents were complaining about kids apparently stranded and/or missing with late/insufficient communications. Earlier today, Superintendent Greg Martineau promised parents that he would be posting updated bus routes by 2:00 pm today. It appears that they kept that promise. The district is hoping kids can hop on the bus the first day of school without any problems. To that end, they have taken back the reigns on designing routes, but will also engage drivers in the process. District continues to examine school Start Time
Last night many the Combined School Committee met in front of a large audience pushing for Algonquin to move it’s start time from 7:20 am to 8:30 am.
