Is Hurricane Sandy headed to Southborough?

Talk about October surprises. I dismissed the hype about then Tropical Storm Sandy from early this week as just that – hype. But forecasting models now have the storm getting uncomfortably close to New England, and today the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency said Sandy could have “a major impact” on our area early next week. Southborough’s first snow day of the year: What’s closed today (UPDATED)

It’s finally here: Southborough’s first official snow day of the season … if you don’t count the ones we had in October, that is. I haven’t been outside to measure, but it looks like about five or six inches of snow fell in our area since yesterday, and a bit more is expected to accumulate today. Power restored and then lost again for some Southborough residents – UPDATED

Residents along Parkerville Road south and its side streets were thrilled when their power finally came back yesterday evening after three days in the dark. So you can imagine their disappointment when power went out again a couple of hours later.
